HolzWald Pig

This figure keeps a plump farmyard pig in a calm standing pose, with a rounded back, a short curled tail and a broad snout carved into the front. The body is long and low rather than tall, so the pig reads instantly as a pig on the shelf. It is one solid piece with no small parts, and every edge has been rounded and finely sanded so the surface feels soft to hold.

The pig measures 10.1cm in length, 6.1cm in height and 2.5cm in width. That long, low shape sits nicely in a young child's palm and is easy to push along a table or line up beside other farm figures. It is a single-piece shelf figure rather than a large playset, so it stays light enough for small children to carry from room to room.

Because the pig is carved from one solid block of wood with no detachable pieces, there is nothing to come loose in play. The rounded, sanded edges make it comfortable in small fingers. As with any small figure, it suits toddlers and older children who can handle a shelf ornament under adult supervision, and it slips easily into a coat pocket or nature basket.

Because every pig is shaped and finished by hand, the grain and markings vary slightly from one to the next.

The colour comes from natural Biofa dyes, and the figure is polished with a high-quality oil for a smooth, warm surface. The workshop uses local wood chosen for quality, and the finish keeps the grain visible rather than hiding it under thick paint. The result is a tactile, earthy piece that feels good in the hand.

Wipe the pig with a dry or barely damp cloth when it needs cleaning, and dry it straight away. Do not soak it, and never put it in a dishwasher, as water can lift the natural finish. Keep it out of long spells of direct sunlight so the Biofa colour stays true, and it will hold its look for years.
