    Play silks are large squares of coloured silk used for open-ended pretend play — capes, rivers, forts, doll wraps, dance ribbons, and peekaboo.     How do you wash play silks?

    Hand-wash play silks in cool water with a little gentle, pH-neutral soap, rinse, and lay flat or hang to dry — avoid hot water, wringing, and the machine, which can damage the fibres and colour. Iron on low if needed. Washed gently, real silk keeps its sheen and strength through years of daily dress-up and pretend play.
