HolzWald Squirrel small

It measures 5.5cm tall, 4cm long and 2cm wide, making it one of the tiniest pieces in the HolzWald range. Despite the small scale, the tail and haunches still give it a stable base so it stands on its own. It disappears easily into a pocket or a treasure basket.

Even at this size the carver keeps the upright, tail-curled stance of a squirrel pausing to nibble. The sweeping tail is shaped clearly behind the body, so the character stays readable rather than becoming an abstract lump. It looks like a young or baby squirrel beside the larger version.

This squirrel is a single solid carving with no detachable parts, and every edge is rounded through repeated sanding. Because of its very small size it is best enjoyed by children who no longer mouth their toys, and it is well suited to careful handling under supervision.

The workshop colours it with natural Biofa dyes that soak into the bare wood, then finishes it with a quality oil. This keeps the surface smooth and lets the grain show through the colour. The soaked-in dye wears softly instead of chipping, which suits a piece that gets handled often.

Clean it with a dry or barely damp cloth and let it dry fully before storing. Keep it away from water, dishwashers and long stretches of direct sunlight so the natural tone stays even. Its small size means it stores neatly in a pouch or tin with other little figures.
