Londji Insert Puzzle - Imagine

Instead of one fixed picture, Imagine has wooden insert pieces that change meaning depending on the puzzle they slot into. The same shape can read as a moon or a boat, a cloud or a caterpillar, a fish or a drop of water, so the set invites children to look twice.

There are 4 separate puzzles, each built from 3 large cardboard pieces, plus the wooden shapes that insert into them. The big pieces suit small players, and assembling all four gives four scenes to complete and then rearrange with the changing wooden inserts.

Londji lists it for ages 2 and up. The large three-piece boards and chunky wooden inserts suit toddlers, and the open theme of one shape meaning many things keeps it interesting as a child becomes more confident with puzzles over time.

Laid out, the puzzles reach about 47 x 15.7 cm across, and everything packs into a box measuring 19 x 18.5 x 4.5 cm. The compact box makes it easy to store on a shelf or carry between rooms without losing pieces.

The boards are made from FSC paper and recycled cardboard, while the insert pieces are wood, illustrated by Queralt Armengol and made in Barcelona. The mix gives flat printed scenes with solid wooden shapes that a child slots into place by hand.

Because each wooden shape becomes something new in every scene, children decide what they are looking at and tell little stories as they play. Matching and inserting the pieces also builds hand-eye coordination and shape recognition alongside the open-ended thinking behind each guess.

Keep the cardboard boards dry and flat and wipe the wooden inserts with a dry cloth. Return all four puzzles and their wooden shapes to the box after play so pieces stay paired with the right scenes and nothing gets lost between sessions.
