This coloured pencil is a further development of the Lyra Ferby Coloured Pencil.
It is 17.5cm in length and has a thick core. Its triangular shape also helps with practising the tripod grip which is especially important for children who are still experiencing difficulties holding the pencil properly.
The end of the pencil is sealed the lead super thick is 6.25 mm in diameter. They are breakresistant and highly pigmented.

Is the thick lead prone to breaking?

What sharpener do these need?

Because the triangular barrel is much wider than a standard pencil, it needs a jumbo, wide hole sharpener. Turn the pencil slowly for a clean point and keep the tip slightly rounded for broad colour. A twin hole sharpener with a large opening handles the thick Super Ferby shafts well.

Does the unlacquered finish change how they feel?
