Grapat - Serendipity

Serendipity is a stacking tower made up of 8 wooden pieces in different shapes and sizes. The varied forms let children balance and rearrange the tower in many ways, so each build looks different. The pieces are colourful and handcrafted, and children are invited to spot the little eyes and create their own faces and characters.

Because the pieces have little eyes, children can also turn them into faces and characters, which brings imaginative and small world play into the stacking. Every arrangement offers something different.

Balancing and stacking the different shapes builds fine motor control, hand eye coordination and an early sense of size, balance and problem solving. As children experiment with which pieces sit where, they learn through trial and error. The open ended design also encourages imagination as they invent characters and stories.

Yes. Serendipity is handcrafted and colourful, made by Grapat, a small family run workshop in the Catalonia region of northern Spain. Because the pieces are made and coloured by hand, small differences between sets are normal and give each tower its own character rather than being a flaw.

Yes. As an open ended set, Serendipity combines with other Grapat loose parts. Children can add Nins as characters to the stacking tower, or use the pieces alongside rings, coins and mandalas in wider small world scenes, giving more scope for building and imaginative play.
