Grimm’s Conical Tower Pastel

The Conical Tower Pastel is a wooden stacking toy made up of coloured rings that sit on a central cone in soft pastel tones. Children slide the rings on and take them off again, working out the right order from the largest ring down to the smallest.

As children stack and unstack the rings they practise ordering by size, along with fine motor control and colour recognition. The cone shape guides them toward the correct sequence, so they can try again and again at their own pace as they learn.

The tower is made from alder and coloured with non toxic water based dyes. Alder is a smooth, close grained wood that feels pleasant in the hand, and the water based dyes give the rings their soft pastel colours while keeping the wood grain visible.

Grimm's makes this stacking tower in Germany. It was introduced in 2018 in the pastel colourway, alongside the long running rainbow version, and it is hand painted, so slight differences between pieces are part of its handmade character rather than a fault.
