Bauspiel Fairy Natural Window Set with tray (12 Piece Set)

This boxed set has 12 pieces, two each of six different window shapes cut from natural, uncoloured wood. Set into each window are one or two transparent, facet-cut sparkling stones held in place with pegs. The pieces range from 6-15cm long and 5-10cm high, all 2.5cm thick, so they mix with other Bauspiel blocks.

Unlike solid wooden rainbow building blocks, the Fairy Natural Windows have open frames fitted with clear, faceted stones, so colour comes from the light passing through rather than painted timber. The natural wood keeps the frames neutral, letting the stones stand out. Held up to a window, the facets glitter and cast small pools of coloured light.

The transparent, facet-cut stones catch direct sunlight and glitter, and looking through them is fascinating for children. Placed on a sunny sill or near a lamp, the stones throw tiny sparks of colour, turning a plain wall of blocks into a shining piece of architecture. It rewards slow, curious watching as the light shifts.

Yes. The windows slot into castle and tower builds to turn a plain structure into a beautiful piece of architecture, and they pair naturally with sets such as the Bauspiel Large Fairytale Castle. Because there are two of each shape, children can place matching windows symmetrically on either side of a gateway or tower.

Each stone is held in its wooden frame with pegs, so it stays seated during normal building. Wipe the frames and stones with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth and avoid soaking the wood. Keeping the set in its box between plays protects the faceted surfaces from scratches so they keep glittering.

Fitting the windows into builds develops fine motor control and spatial planning, while the coloured light invites early exploration of colour, transparency and reflection. The magical look draws children into storytelling about castles and fairytale worlds, adding language and imaginative play. Matching the paired shapes also supports simple sorting.

The set suits children from around 3 years upward, who can position the windows and enjoy the sparkle with an adult nearby. Older children use them for detailed, symmetrical castle designs and light play. The natural wood and faceted stones make the set a considered gift for families building a Bauspiel collection.
