What comes in the Smash Jump & Roll set?

The 15 piece set includes one large wooden ramp, one stand, two different style wooden jumps, one large wooden bridge, one wooden bridge or seesaw, five wooden figurines and four different size domino shaped building blocks. Balls shown in the photos are not included.

How do you play with this wooden ball run?

Children design their own courses, rolling balls, marbles or small cars down the large steep ramp built for extra speed. They can send them over the jumps and bridge, then smash down towers of domino blocks and figurines. This wooden ball run has no set rules, so play stays open-ended.

Are balls or marbles included with the set?

No. The set is made to be used with marbles, small cars or wooden balls, which are not included. This lets you choose the size and weight of each object and see how it rolls, jumps and knocks pieces down differently.

What is the Smash Jump & Roll set made from?

Every piece is crafted from sustainable natural pine timber and each one is unique. Timber pieces may show stress marks, wood knots or natural cracks. These are expected in a natural resource and do not affect how the set is played with.

What can the set be combined with?

It adds easily to loose parts and blocks, and pairs with the Bamboo Construct & Roll set (/products/explore-nook-bamboo-construct-roll) for longer, taller ramp runs. Mixing the two lets children build bigger courses and test how objects travel across different tracks.

What skills does building ramps and rolling teach?

As children build and roll a variety of objects they explore foundational maths and science, or STEM, ideas about speed, angles and gravity. The set also gives plenty of practice at problem solving, planning and open-ended engineering as they design and rebuild their own courses.

Why do the wooden pieces look slightly different?

Because the set is made from real pine, every piece grew differently and is not perfectly shaped. You may see varying grain, knots and small cracks. Each set is unique, which is part of playing with a genuine natural timber resource rather than moulded plastic.
