Frequently Asked Questions

What is in the Fat Brain Toys Air Toobz 100 piece set?

The set contains 14 straight tubes, 13 corner tubes, 27 connectors, a T-tube, a funnel, the Switch, 40 foam balls, the fan unit, a charger and a large carry bag. Counted together that makes 100 pieces, all packed into the one bag.

How long does the fan run on a charge?

The rechargeable fan runs for about 1 hour on full speed and around 3 hours on half speed, and it recharges in under 2 hours. A large dial with LED indicators sets the airflow, and the fan switches itself off after 15 minutes to save the battery.

What does the Switch do?

The Switch is a directional piece that redirects airflow, so children can send balls down one route or another without rebuilding the whole track. It turns a single run into a branching layout and is a simple way to explore cause and effect.

How big can the builds get?

With 14 straight tubes, 13 corners and 27 connectors, children can stretch a run across the floor, weave it under a table or build tall loops beside the fan. Pieces push together and pull apart easily, so a layout can be changed as often as they like.

How do you store everything?

Every piece fits inside the large orange carry bag, which has a lid, carry handles and mesh side pockets for loose balls and connectors. When it is empty the bag folds flat, so it takes up very little room in a cupboard.

Can it be combined with other Air Toobz packs?

Yes. All Air Toobz pieces share the same connector system, so you can add the Whirlwind Accessory Pack for spinning effects or the Mega Run tubing for much longer runs.

What age is it recommended for?

It is recommended for children aged 3 years and up. Younger builders enjoy loading balls and watching them fly, while older children plan routes, test airflow settings and solve why a ball stalls, which brings in spatial reasoning and early STEM thinking.
