What shapes are in the 24 Piece Connetix Shape Expansion Pack?

It has large triangles, right-angle triangles, quarter circles, pentagons, trapezoids and rhombi, all clear. These are angles the standard square-and-triangle packs don't include, so they open up new 2D and 3D builds.

Is this a standalone set or an expansion?

It's an expansion. With 24 feature shapes and no basic squares, it adds new angles to a collection you already own rather than starting one. Pair it with a Creative or Starter pack for a full set.

What can children build with clear shapes?

Mandalas, snowflakes, igloos, glasshouses and Frozen-style castles, plus domes and curves the flat tiles can't make. Being see-through, the pieces layer colour and light in a way solid tiles don't.

Does it connect with coloured Connetix and Magna-Tiles?

Yes. Clear tiles click onto rainbow and pastel Connetix, ball run squares and base plates. They also join Magna-Tiles, with slight differences in size and colour between brands.

What does it teach?

The new shapes bring maths into play: children explore fractions, symmetry, angles and how pieces tessellate as they build. The clear bevelled edges also cast colourful light refractions in the sun.

Is it safe, and what age is it for?

Tiles are non-toxic ABS that is BPA, lead and phthalate free, with magnets ultrasonically welded and riveted inside. Ages 3+; it has strong magnets and small parts, so keep it from children who mouth toys and seek help if a magnet is swallowed.
