        48 connecting squares, 2 double bowls, 6 right-angle tubes, 6 U-shaped tubes, 8 spiral tubes, 2 X tubes and 8 wooden balls, all in pastel with clear fluted tubes so you can watch the balls travel.

        What do the special tube pieces do?

        The X tubes re-direct and pivot the action, the double bowls let two balls race and drop together, and the spiral tubes send balls spinning for eye-tracking fun. The right-angle and U tubes add twists and turns.

        Is this a standalone set or an expansion?

        It's an expansion. It brings the tubes, balls and connector squares, so pair it with a starter or creative pack for the walls and towers your ball runs drop through. It also joins the Pastel Ball Run and base plates.

        Does it work with rainbow Connetix and Magna-Tiles?

        Yes. The pastel pieces click onto rainbow and pastel Connetix and base plates, so you can mix palettes freely. The tiles also join Magna-Tiles, with slight differences in size and colour tone.

        What will children learn with it?

        Building and rebuilding a run is hands-on physics: children explore motion, gravity, speed and problem-solving as they redesign pathways to make a ball spin, pivot or drop faster.

        Is it safe, and what age is it for?

        Tiles are non-toxic ABS that is BPA, lead and phthalate free, with magnets ultrasonically welded and riveted inside. Ages 3+; it has strong magnets and small parts, so keep it from children who mouth toys and seek help if a magnet is swallowed.
