Freckled Frog Getting Around

Getting Around is a 16 piece set featuring favourite forms of transport, from scooters and fire engines to rockets and helicopters. Children can drive, fly and sail the pieces around the room in imaginative play, and the range of vehicles gives plenty to name, compare and sort.

The pieces range from about 19cm by 5cm for the largest down to around 3.5cm by 3cm for the smallest, each roughly 2cm thick. The chunky shapes are easy for small hands to hold and push along, and the mix of sizes makes lining up and comparing the vehicles part of the fun.

With so many kinds of transport, the set is a good starter for talking about how scooters, boats, planes and fire engines fit into the community and the jobs they do. These discussions build language and communication while children connect their play to the real vehicles they see every day.
