The set is a 56-piece circular puzzle made up of wooden segments that fit together to form whole circles. Each circle is divided into a different number of equal parts, so children piece together everything from a single whole to a circle split into ten.

As a wooden puzzle it works on two levels: first children simply fit the segments into their spaces by trial and error. When they show interest, you can talk about how many pieces make a whole, a half or a quarter, turning the same toy into a fractions lesson.

Yes. In the early years the set is simply a shape puzzle where children match pieces to the right space, building spatial awareness. You can reintroduce it later, once they are ready, to explore the maths behind halves, quarters and smaller parts.

The puzzle contains fractions ranging from one whole all the way down to one tenth. That span lets children compare how a half, a quarter and a tenth differ in size, giving a hands-on picture of what each fraction really means.

The puzzle is made with FSC beech wood and measures approximately 18cm in diameter and 4cm high. The chunky depth makes each segment easy to grip and stand up, so pieces are simple to sort and slot into place.

Completing the puzzle asks children to test which piece fits where, encouraging patience and problem solving as they work by trial and error. Because a wrong piece simply will not sit flush, the puzzle gives instant, self-correcting feedback.

Learning Fractions is suitable for children two years and over. Toddlers use it as a straightforward puzzle, while older children revisit it to grasp fraction concepts, so one set stays relevant from early play into more formal maths.
