Papoose Toys - Baobab Tree

The distinctive baobab shape, a stout trunk with a spreading crown, instantly reads as a savanna or storybook landscape. Children add animals and figures to build imaginary and small world scenes around the two trees, inventing their own settings each time they play.

Each set includes two baobab trees. Having a pair lets children space them out for a wider scene or group them as a little grove, which adds flexibility when setting up a small world.

The trees are hand felted from 100% pure wool with natural biodegradable dyes, made by a fair trade co-operative in Nepal and designed in Australia. Each tree stands 25cm tall on a wooden base about 6cm in diameter, giving a stable footing on a table or floor.

Papoose gives an age guide of 3 and up for this set. Preschoolers and older children can both use the trees in role play and story building, with an adult keeping an eye on younger players as with any felt toy.

Treat them as wool. Spot clean the felt gently with a damp cloth, keep the wooden base dry, and let everything air dry fully. Avoid soaking or machine washing so the shape and colour of the crown stay intact.

Not exactly. As these are completely handmade, variations in colour and shape may occur between the two trees and from the product image. Each piece carries its own characteristics, which is a natural feature of a hand felted item.
