Sarah's Silks Around The Year On The Farm Playsilk

This standard size measures thirty five inches square and is made from heavyweight, one hundred percent pure mulberry silk. The extra weight helps it drape well for building play, tying costumes, or laying out a farm scene on a table.

It is a limited edition collaboration between Sarah's Silks and illustrator Stephanie Green of Wilded Family. The design follows the farm through the changing seasons, so the artwork itself becomes a talking point during open ended play.

The cloth travels around the year on a farm, with spring flowers and seed planting, summer bees and chickens, an autumn harvest, and a cosy winter feeding the animals and playing in snow. Children can point out each season as they play.

The heavyweight silk works for small world farm scenes, building a barn over tables and chairs, wrapping dolls, or tying on as a simple costume. Its open ended nature means the same cloth becomes something new with each round of play.

It is offered in three sizes. Mini suits small world play, this standard Playsilk builds a farm across tables and chairs, and the new Large size hangs on classroom or playroom walls and supports bigger building games.

Heavyweight refers to a denser weave of mulberry silk compared to the lightweight seasonal silks. The added body helps the farm cloth hold its shape when draped or tied, so it stands up well to active, hands on play.
