HolzWald Rabbit sitting

The wooden rabbit sits in a compact, upright pose with its ears raised and paws tucked in, the way a real rabbit rests alert in a garden. The rounded, folded shape reads clearly and sits well in a young child's hand.

It measures 7cm long, 6cm tall and 2.2cm wide, a small figure that fits neatly in little fingers. The sitting pose gives it a wide, stable base, so it stays put on a shelf or play mat.

It is carved from local wood with edges bevelled and hand-sanded until smooth. Natural Biofa dyes give it colour and an oil polish seals the surface, so the grain shows through and the figure feels soft to hold.

Place it in garden, meadow and woodland stories, nibbling grass or hopping between other HolzWald animals. Children can build a burrow scene or a spring meadow, mixing the rabbit with lambs, birds and small creatures.

Wipe it with a dry cloth, or a barely damp one for marks, then dry it at once. Keep it away from soaking water and long periods of direct sun to protect the natural colour over time.

It is handmade in a small Georgian workshop that has produced woodcraft since 1997. The team hires from the surrounding community, including people with disabilities, so each rabbit supports inclusive work.
