Freckled Frog Fun with Chalk! Wooden Cubes

Fun with Chalk is a set of wooden cubes with a chalkboard surface on every side. Children can draw or write on the faces with chalk, wipe them clean and start again, so the same blocks become a fresh canvas each time they play.

As open-ended childrens wooden blocks, there is no set way to use them, so play is limited only by imagination. Children stack them into towers, arrange them into rows or chalk letters and numbers on the sides, mixing building with drawing however they choose.

There are 6 cubes in each set, and each one measures 7cm by 7cm. That chunky, even size makes them easy to grip, stack and balance, while six blocks are enough to build small structures or lay out a short row of chalked letters.

Because every face is a chalkboard, the cubes double as a tool for early literacy and maths. Children can chalk a letter, a number or a picture on each side, then rearrange the blocks to spell a word, count a set or tell a story.

Children can draw pictures, practise forming letters, mark numbers or invent their own symbols on the chalkboard faces. Since the chalk wipes away, they can experiment freely, correct mistakes and try new ideas without worrying about getting it right the first time.

The cubes are made from FSC New Zealand pine, giving them a solid, sturdy feel that stands up to repeated stacking and knocking over. The plain timber frame keeps the focus on whatever the child chalks onto the chalkboard sides.

The chalk cubes are suitable for children one year and over. Younger children enjoy stacking and handling the blocks, while older ones use the chalkboard sides for letters and numbers, so the set stays useful well into the early learning years.
