Bauspiel Castle Set with tray (16 Piece Set)

The Castle Set contains 16 large pieces made of solid alder wood, including a mix of turrets, towers, arches, windows, stairs and walls. The tallest tower stands 25.5 x 6 x 6cm, with wall pieces up to 20cm and staircases at 9 x 4 x 12cm. Everything stores in a 30 x 30 x 25cm box.

These wooden castle building blocks are cut from native alder timber with polished, pleasant edges, so they feel solid and warm in the hand. The natural material stands up to intensive, repeated play and ages well. Unlike a fixed plastic castle, the loose pieces can be arranged into countless layouts, keeping the set interesting as a child grows.

Children combine the towers, arched gateways, staircases and walls to raise fortresses, keeps and towers of different heights. Because the pieces are separate, a castle can be knocked down and rebuilt in a new shape every time. Adding figures or vehicles turns the structure into a setting for knights, stories and small-world play.

Balancing tall towers and spanning arches develops spatial reasoning, planning and steady fine motor control. Deciding where stairs and gateways go encourages problem solving, while the finished castle becomes a stage for storytelling and pretend play. Building alongside a sibling or friend also supports sharing and cooperation.

Yes. The Castle Set works with the wider Bauspiel castle range, so you can add extra towers, walls and windows to build larger structures. Pieces such as the Bauspiel Knight's Castle expand the layout, and reflective or window blocks add detail. Mixing sets lets children scale up from a single tower to a sprawling fortress.

The set comes in a sturdy box measuring 30 x 30 x 25cm that holds all 16 pieces, making tidy-up and stacking on a shelf straightforward. Keeping the blocks together in the box also protects the polished timber edges between play sessions and makes the set easy to carry to a friend's house.

The Castle Set is recommended for children aged 3 and over. The large alder pieces are easy for small hands to lift and position, and the open building style suits a wide span of ages, so older children keep finding new castle designs. It makes a lasting gift for a child who loves construction and pretend play.
