Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the Maileg Christmas garland?

It is about 188 cm from end to end, which is enough to drape across most mantels or along the top of a standard window. It weighs only around 30 grams, so a couple of small hooks or a ribbon will hold it.

What does it look like?

Seven fabric ornaments hang along the garland, including bells, mittens, pennants and a woven heart in red, cream and beige. The mix of soft prints and plain linen gives it a homemade Scandinavian feel rather than shiny tinsel.

What is it made from?

The fabric is a blend of 54% linen, 32% cotton, 7% viscose and 7% polyester. It has a soft, slightly textured feel and it will not shed glitter or needles around the house.

Can I wash it?

Yes, it can be machine washed at 30°C. Do not bleach, tumble dry or dry clean it, and use a warm iron if the fabric needs smoothing before you hang it again.

Where can I hang it?

Try it across a mantel, along a window, on a bedroom wall or wound through the branches of the tree. It also works on a staircase rail or the back of a door if you want festive colour without using floor space.

Is it easy to store after Christmas?

Fabric folds flat, so the garland packs into a small box or bag once the season is over. It arrives in a kraft paper sleeve that you can keep for storage too.

Does it match other Maileg Christmas pieces?

The red and cream palette suits Maileg's Christmas mice and metal ornaments, so it ties a festive corner together. Hang an ornament set on the tree and the garland on the mantel for a matching theme.
