Frequently Asked Questions

What does this Maileg tin look like?

It is a slim metal box with a classic sliding lid, printed with an illustration of Maileg mice. The design gives it a vintage keepsake feel, so it looks just as good left out on a desk as tucked in a drawer.

How small is it?

It measures about 9.5 cm by 6 cm and only 1.5 cm deep. That is roughly the size of a playing card, so it fits in a pocket, a handbag or a Christmas stocking.

What can I store in it?

It holds jewellery, hair ties, tiny doll accessories, notes or other little mementoes. Because it is so thin, it also works well for keeping small paper items flat, such as photos or tickets.

Can it be used to give a gift card?

Yes. A gift card or a folded handwritten note fits neatly inside, and sliding the lid open adds a small moment of surprise. It turns a simple card into a present the child can keep using afterwards.

How do I keep it clean?

It is surface wash only. Wipe the tin with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it straight away, since leaving water on the metal or soaking it can damage the printed finish.

Are there other designs?

Yes. The same sliding lid tin also comes in other prints such as Jumbo Coins Blue and Blossom Blue. Collecting a few makes a handy set for sorting small treasures, and they sit nicely beside other Maileg pieces.
