The Freckled Frog Alphabet Magnets

The wooden alphabet magnet set contains 57 pieces styled in cursive. It includes 26 uppercase and 26 lowercase letters, plus an extra set of bonus vowels so children have spares of the letters used most often when building words.

The letters are shaped in a flowing cursive style and cover the full alphabet twice, once in capitals and once in lowercase. Adding bonus vowels means children rarely run out of the a, e, i, o and u needed to spell everyday words.

Instead of small metal magnets, each letter has a rubber magnet backing, so there are no loose metal parts. That design lets you feel confident about safety while children move the letters around to practise the alphabet and build words.

Arranging the magnets helps children practise letter recognition, then put together small words and simple sentences. Working left to right also introduces the foundations of reading print, such as which direction to read, where capitals go and leaving spaces between words.

Children can start by finding and naming single letters, then line them up to spell their own name or short familiar words. As they grow more confident they can build simple sentences, exploring how letters join to make meaning.

The letters are made with an FSC plywood magnet construction and come with a reusable fabric bag. The bag keeps all 57 pieces together, making it easy to pack the set away or take it between home and an early learning setting.

The alphabet magnets are suitable for children aged three years and over. At that age children are ready to recognise letters and experiment with spelling, so the set supports the early reading and writing skills they are beginning to develop.
