    Why is dress-up play good for preschoolers?

    Dress-ups fuel the imaginative role-play three and four year olds thrive on.     Why choose open-ended play silks over character costumes?

    How do you wash play silks?

    Hand-wash play silks in cool water with a little gentle soap, then lay flat or hang to dry — avoid hot water, wringing and the machine, which can damage the fibres and colour. Iron on low if needed. Washed gently, real silk keeps its sheen through years of preschool play.

    Many families think so. Real silk is strong, drapes beautifully and holds its colour, so it stands up to years of daily dress-up and pretend play. Because it's endlessly open-ended, it's played with far more than most toys, making it excellent value for imaginative three and four year olds.
